Guards against the impact arising from pressure changes!
Have you ever heard of the term “water hammer”?
This refers to the shock or water impact that occurs when pressures suddenly change in pipes or the like. When suddenly turning off the faucet, you may have heard a thumping or pounding sound. Due to this banging sound, this phenomenon was termed “water hammer”.
Water hammering may cause valves and equipment to become broken, leading to serious accidents. If you hear the hammering sound when opening and closing the fluid flow, take caution.
CKD’s Air operated 2-port valve SAB / SVB Series have variations (SAB*W / SVB*W) that address water hammering. Differentiating these from other variations is that they are structured to pressurize (port A) from the lower side of the main valve. For this reason, the sealing load is increased and the structure withstands against fluid pressures.
Let’s take measures against water hammering and make your workplace a safe one.
